Welcome new and returning Spalding families to the 2023-2024 school year! 

The start of a new school year brings lots of excitement as we watch our children reconnect with and make new friends, establish new routines, and get settled into both familiar and new traditions.  

We are so excited to begin the 2023-24 year! Whether it is your first year or your last year attending Spalding Drive Elementary, know that you are part of a small, diverse, and close knit community, where every staff member at our special school knows and embraces your student and you are an important part of a community of families.  

You may be asking what exactly is PTO and how does it specifically benefit me and my child? Just as your child’s teacher is there to help him or her navigate their studies and the school, PTO serves the same purpose for our parents and teachers. We are parents and teachers working together to help ensure our children and their families get the best possible learning in a collaborative environment. If you want to get information, voice an opinion or ask a question, volunteer, get involved or fund raise, the PTO is the place to start.

The PTO funds and executes programs to enrich and support the quality of the school experience for all students and teachers at Spalding Drive. This is accomplished through an extensive volunteer network and the PTO's annual budget which is comprised of membership dues, fundraising activities, and corporate partnerships.  Annually, we award over $9,000 in classroom supplies grants and nearly $10,000 in teacher mini grants for curriculum enrichment and special projects.  

The PTO organizes our school’s established traditions such as the Back to School Picnic, Donuts with Grown Ups, Fall Festival, Staff Appreciation Week, Book Fair, Tiger Trot and more.  The PTO also works to facilitate communication between the school and Spalding families by managing our PTO website, weekly newsletter, and room parent communications throughout the year. 

By joining our PTO, you become a part of the fabric that makes our school strong. We could not do what we do without parent and teacher membership and support.  Please join today!
